My name is Erica.  I currently live in Brunswick, Ohio, just south of Cleveland.  I was told about my love of Creative Writing in my first undergraduate English class at Ashland University by Joe Mackall, and I have been studying it and writing ever since.  I finished graduate school with my MFA in Creative Writing from University of North Carolina Wilmington in May 2010 and I am on a painstaking journey to figure out the balance between my traditional desire to be a housewife, and my modern (not feminist) abilities and desires to be a working woman.  I have a fantastic job at Foundation Software as a Writer and Public Relations Specialist in the Marketing Department.  I am lucky to be using my degrees in writing and making my own way in this world.

I love my boyfriend Mike, and I pray every day that he gets to Ohio soon so that we might be able to start our lives together.

I have a saying that someday I hope to have tattooed on myself…  ”It is the fool who fails to return to the place of his last happiness.”  I believe that, 100%.  The question is, though, where is the last place you were truly happy?  The answer to that is that I think it’s in the past.  No one can ever be as happy as they were in the past because we look back on it with rose-colored glasses.  We forget the bad and glorify the good.  It’s how we survive as human beings.

So what happens next?  I guess we’ll see.

I feel entitled to give you advice, and to be politically incorrect, and make you angry.  I do it so that for a moment, you might see the world as I do.
